We now have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Representative who will be responsible for our major coatings brand Carboline, as well as fireproofing products, in the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel regions being based at Altex Coatings Ltd head office in Tauranga NZ.

Your Next Opportunity: 

This is an exciting opportunity to represent an industry-leading player in the protective coatings sector. As our next Sales Representative, you’ll build our customer base and develop new accounts while also supporting our current clients and ensuring their needs are met by acting on opportunities to provide high-quality products and services.

Our clients range from engineers and architects, all the way to paint applicators, so you’ll have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders who require assistance in determining the appropriate solution to their coating needs.

Day-to-day tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Forecasting for major projects and high-volume jobs to management
  • Building sales volumes by calling on new and existing customers
  • Offering advise to Altex Management on ideas for improvements or products
  • Committing to the company’s safety and quality programs
  • Ensuring all Sales Territory Plans are followed
  • Working alongside Altex-based technical staff to provide high-quality advice
  • Providing local technical support

What You'll Bring to the Team: 

To be considered for this position, you should have some prior demonstrated experience in a similar role that saw you selling to industry professionals, ideally in an industrial coatings environment (though we are open to a range of industries for candidates with the ability to learn quickly).

You’ll have highly developed communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. Your analytical skills and ability to communicate persuasively with all levels of staff and management will be critical to your success in this position.
